So Sorry I Missed You

May 14, 10 So Sorry I Missed You

“The other day I needed to call mi tía to give hgo straight to someone's voicemail er a message from my mom. Just a short, simple message. Except there’s no such thing as a short, straightforward conversation with mi tía. That woman loves to give la lengua a good workout every chance she gets. Much as I usually don’t mind hearing her prattle on about everything from the latest episode of Cristina to how my ungrateful cousins never call her, on that particular day I just did not have the time. This, however, is a concept unfortunately beyond her (and her whole generation, it seems). If I had known about Slydial I could have saved myself a lot of trouble. Slydial lets you go straight to a person’s voicemail, so you can circumvent conversations you would rather not have, especially if a text message or an e-mail are not an option. It’s free and easy to use, and you don’t even have to sign up! I’ve used this service now and again to save myself an unwanted earful, but I have certainly never used it nor have I ever even considered using it on my mother (I’m pretty sure she’s reading this).”
