Merry Christmas Travels

Dec 19, 11 Merry Christmas Travels

Christmas is all about family, isn’t it? Reconnecting with primos you haven’t seen all year, spending time with your dear old abuelos and catch up on chismes with your gossipy tias. Or if you have a crazy dysfunctional family, maybe it’s the perfect time to pull a runner and head for warmer climates. If for whatever reason you find yourself spending the holidays all alone, take advantage of your situation instead of getting all down in the dumps. Pack your bags and jet off to someplace you’ve never been before, no companion required! Check out one of these fabulous destinations, deemed the best places to take a trip to alone:

  • New Zealand: there’s lots to do and lots of inexpensive boarding options for single travelers, of which there are many so you won’t feel left out and it’s a great chance to meet new people. It’s also a safe place for an unaccompanied female, which is very important.
  • Australia: same as New Zealand, you’ll find plenty of fellow lone travelers and lots of adventures to embark on.
  • The U.K: it offers everything from large cities filled with shopping and dining, to smaller towns with plenty of history, art and culture; plus, getting around via train is easy and convenient.
  • Latin America: why not get in touch with your roots and brush up on your Spanish in Mexico or Guatemala?
  • The U.S: if you’d like to dip your toe in the waters of solo traveling before diving in headfirst, try some good old American cities like Chicago, New York, San Antonio, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C.
