Laura Filipowicz

Oct 20, 11 Laura Filipowicz

City you live in:
Los Angeles.

Occupation and why?
Pre-MOMpreneur, I was a Program Auditor for the Office of Refugee Assitance in Los Angeles. My undergraduate degree was in Speech Pathology. Currently, I am the CEO/Founder of Post-baby, I felt like I completely re-invented myself and I love it! I left my job and became a full-time MOMpreneur because I felt that I wanted to give my daugter the same attention that my mom gave me growing up. Her effort and dedication to me and our family helped me become who I am today – A strong Latina!

A regular day consists of?
Coffee, being a MOMpreneur, blogging, coffee #2, being a “Soccer Mom”, Mompreneur, coffee #3, chef, being a Wife, Mompreneur, coffee #4….Sleep! Do it all again the next morning :)

How do you define success?
By accomplishing things I have set out to do vs. those things that others believe I should accomplish.

What has been your biggest challenge?
Juggling Life as a MOMpreneur.

What advice would you give a Latina who wants to follow in your footsteps?
Always ask. The worst they can say is “No”. If you don’t ask, then it is automatically a “No” anyway.
I believe in smiling, remembering people’s names, a good pair of shoes, quality vs. quantity, meeting new people, hugs and kisses for sure, helping others and being genuine. I am inspired by my parents, brother, husband, daughter, friends and people who have the courage to be who they really are.

What’s on your bucket list?
Being on the front cover of a Mompreneur Magazine!

I am proud to be Latina because:
It is who I am and what has molded who I have become.

How do you get your Latin fix?
Blasting the Music alone in my home while I dance. Shhh! No one knows!

Spanglish, English, Spanish?

What is your favorite Latin restaurant?
Junior’s Fish/Shrimp Tacos, Tijuana, MX.

My favorite Latina stereotype is:
“How much do you charge for Nanny services?” No. I am not my daughter’s nanny.

Best advice from mami and/or abuelita:
Always be yourself.

Favorite home remedy
Sopa de Fideo – comfort food.

Favorite Quote:
