Got The Weight Off? Now Keep It Off

Apr 12, 11 Got The Weight Off? Now Keep It Off

There are like a thousand different diets out there (I should know, I’ve tried them all). From Atkins to la dieta del lagarto (Oh, yeah. Look it up. If nothing else, it’s a ton of fun), one of them is bound to work for you. The toughest part comes after the diet: trying to keep the weight off once you’ve lost it. It’s easy to fall back into old habits that send all of your hard dieting right down the drain. So we turned to someone who knows all about doing battle with the love handles. Here’s what Ex-Fat Gurl had to say:

  • In order to avoid over-indulging in chucherias and fatty foods, carry around your own snacks and bring your lunch from home. Also don’t forget a bottle of water and drink plenty of it throughout the day.
  • Design an exercise plan that is consistent with your lifestyle. For example, if you usually work late, hit the gym before work or during your lunch break. Setting a realistic schedule will ideally allow you to get 3 to 4 workouts a week.
  • Muevelo, muevelo! Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park on the far side of the lot, whatever it takes to get you to go the extra mile and keep you moving.
  • Don’t deprive yourself. Life’s too short to spend it being cranky because you won’t let yourself have a helping of tres leches. Indulge, but in moderation. A.k.a have a small portion, not the whole damn pan.
  • Count calories; you have no idea what a difference this makes. And with the array of apps and sites out there to help you do this, there’s no excuse not to.

Follow these tips, and those annoying extra pounds will never creep up on you again. Thanks, Gurl!
