City you live in:
Smack-dab in the middle of Los Angeles, CA. I commute to the South Bay daily (about a 2 hour commute, EACH WAY!). So I would say I live in L.A. traffic instead. ;)

English during the day, Spanish in the evening and Spanglish when I’m mad.

Favorite Latin food you can’t live without
Mole Negro Oaxaqueño de Pavo con arroz blanco y tortillas de maíz (recién hechas).

What is your Latina contradiction?
Lard has always been a no-no in my upbringing. Not all Mexican families cook with lard.

When you think of Latin culture what are the first words you think of?
Unity, dedication, celebration.

What is your ethnicity? Or where is your family from?
Torreón Coahuila México. ¡Arriba El Santos!

Latina? American? Both?

Favorite Latin artist or music?
I have a very eclectic and alternative taste: Gotan Project, Ximena Sariñana, Julieta Venegas, Mexican Institute of Sound, Nortec Collective, Jazzimodo, Rita Indiana and Los Amigos Invisibles.

iPhone, Android or BlackBerry?
iPhone. Ay, ay, ay! Addicted to Instagram.

How do you describe your style?
Eclectic, mismatched…not really a style. I’m all about my comfy jeans and my gold sparkly Toms shoes.

What is your favorite Latin restaurant?
Of all time: La Olla in Oaxaca (Sopa Azteca!).

In L.A.: Cacao Mexicatessen (Taquitos de flor de calabaza y huitlacoche –highly recommended!)

What media in English and/or Spanish do you prefer/consume, as in what magazines, newspapers, TV shows, etc?
Since my son was born, I only have time to catch up on world events through blogs and websites in both English and Spanish. I also listen to NPR during my long commutes to/from work.
